Services

Online booking
  • We connect travelers with local car rental suppliers in Phuket
  • You compare the vehicles available for your dates and book online
  • We operate online: there is no office to visit and no phone line
  • We hold no vehicles ourselves
  • Rates, deposit and mileage terms are shown in Thai baht on each car before you pay
  • Some suppliers confirm instantly; others check availability and reply, usually within a few hours
  • A voucher names the supplier, the meeting point, the time and what to bring; adding your flight number at booking lets the supplier see a delay
Collection and delivery
  • Collect at Phuket International Airport (HKT)
  • The car can be delivered to your address
  • 20 places to collect, including west-coast beaches, southern and eastern points, Phuket Town and the pier, and three mainland points including Khao Lak
  • A different drop-off point can be set at search (one-way)
  • Pickup arrangements depend on the vehicle and location you choose, so please use our website to see what is available for your dates
  • The airport and Cape Panwa have named meeting points; everywhere else the car is brought to the address you give
  • Delivery away from the airport is priced per car and shown in the search next to the rate
  • Routed drive times from the terminal, as a minimum: Phuket Town 38 min, Patong 43 min, Karon 48 min, Kata 52 min, Cape Panwa 53 min, Khao Lak 80 min
Before you book
  • Deposit, mileage limit, cover level and cancellation terms are shown on each car before you book
  • Email inquiries before booking: car class, pickup point, deposit differences
  • Guides on the site, including the International Driving Permit for Thailand
Rental conditions that apply to every car
  • Minimum chargeable rental period is 24 hours, so a few hours is charged as a full day
  • Return the car with the same fuel level you collected it with; fuel, parking, fines and tolls are the renter's cost
  • Paved public roads only; confirm at booking whether the car may leave Phuket province; no driving across Thailand's borders
  • Bring your passport, your national driving licence and an International Driving Permit, all valid until the rental ends; copies and electronic licences are not accepted
  • Every driver must be named on the agreement; the supplier sets minimum driver age and experience on each car
  • A physical embossed credit card in the main driver's name is usually required; some suppliers accept a debit card, stated at booking
  • Standard cover excludes the wheels, undercarriage, windscreen and interior; an insured event needs immediate notice to the rental agent and a police report
  • Only small pets may travel, kept in their carriers

Common questions

Is Phuket Airport Car Rental a rental office?

No. It is an online booking service connecting travelers with local car rental suppliers in Phuket. It operates online and has no office to visit and no phone line.

Where can I collect my car?

At Phuket International Airport, or the car can be delivered to your address. There are 20 places to collect, including west-coast beaches, Phuket Town, Cape Panwa and three mainland points such as Khao Lak. Pickup arrangements depend on the car and location you choose.

How do I book?

Go to the website, enter your pickup and drop-off and your dates, and compare the vehicles available. A voucher follows with the supplier, the meeting point, the time and what to bring.

Where do I see the deposit, mileage and cover for a car?

Deposit, mileage limit and cover level are shown on every car before you book. They are set car by car, as is free cancellation.

Who handles the car and the rental contract?

The Phuket supplier you book with hands the car over in person at your chosen pickup point, and the rental contract is between you and that supplier. Phuket Airport Car Rental holds no vehicles itself.

What documents do I need to rent a car?

Your passport, your national driving licence and an International Driving Permit, each valid until the rental ends, plus the deposit if the car holds one. The International Driving Permit has to be arranged before you fly, because it cannot be obtained after you arrive. Minimum driver age and experience are stated on each car.

Do I need a credit card?

Usually a physical embossed credit card in the main driver's name. Some suppliers accept a debit card, and where they do it is stated at booking and on the voucher. A card in a digital wallet is not accepted.

What does the standard cover leave out?

Standard cover excludes the wheels, undercarriage, windscreen and interior, and every car carries Thailand's compulsory injury cover. A higher level can change what you carry, and what it adds is stated on the car. Photograph the car with the supplier at handover.

Can I take the car to Khao Lak or off Phuket?

Khao Lak books like any other pickup point, and it is about 80 minutes from the airport across the Sarasin Bridge. The supplier's conditions ask you to confirm at booking that the car may leave Phuket province, and crossing Thailand's borders is not allowed.

How much does a car cost?

Prices are read from live supplier listings and shown in Thai baht, and they vary by car, supplier and season. Enter your dates in the search to see the rate. Delivery away from the airport carries its own per-car charge.

How do I contact them?

Email info@phuketairportcarrental.com. They usually reply within a day. For anything about a live booking, the supplier's contact details on your voucher are the fastest route.
