03 — QuestionsYes. Foreigners can own condominium units outright (freehold) within the 49% foreign-ownership quota of each building. New developments are the easiest way in, because developers reserve quota and handle the transfer paperwork for foreign buyers.
Off-plan units are typically priced below completion value and paid in instalments during construction, which can mean capital appreciation by handover. Most Bangkok developers take a booking fee, a contract/down payment of 10–30% spread across construction, and the balance on transfer at completion. Foreign buyers must bring funds from abroad with an FET form for the transfer.
