Your life now, priced against a Thai city.

Type the monthly costs of the life you already have. LifeSwap lines them up with the same categories in a Thai city, using BAANLYY listings and figures this site already publishes. No account. Estimates, not a quote.

LifeSwap

Type what you spend now. The home side stays exactly those numbers. Thai amounts appear only when BAANLYY already publishes a sourced figure, or — for rent — when enough real listings are on the site.

FAQ

Questions about LifeSwap

Where do the home numbers come from?

Only from what you type. LifeSwap does not keep cost figures for cities outside Thailand, and it does not fill a home column in for you. Leave a line blank and it stays out of the total.

Where do the Thai numbers come from?

Rent is the median monthly rent of active BAANLYY rental listings in the city and bedroom count you pick, and only when the listing read is complete and there are at least 4 comparable listings. Other categories appear only when a figure already on BAANLYY has a source. If it does not, you see "No BAANLYY figure yet - enter your own estimate" and you can type your own estimate. That estimate is yours. It is not added to the BAANLYY difference.

What does the monthly difference mean?

On the numbers you entered, it is your amount minus the Thai figure, for categories BAANLYY could price. It is not a prediction of what you will spend after a move. The home you choose, your habits, and the exchange rate all move the result. The published all-in band on the city guide is shown beside the lines and is not added on top of them.

Do I need an account?

No. The tool runs in your browser. Nothing you type is stored on an account, because there is no account for this page.

Where a Thai figure comes from

When a rent number is shown, it is the median of active BAANLYY rental listings for that city and bedroom count. The read has to be complete, and there have to be at least 4 listings. That is the same minimum the rental valuation tool uses before it will state a number. Open the listings from the link on the housing line.

The all-in band under the lines is copied from that city's own cost-of-living guide. It is a range for a whole lifestyle, not a split of the categories above.
