Siam Paragon opened on 9 December 2005 on the former site of the Siam Intercontinental Hotel, on land leased from the Crown Property Bureau at the Siam BTS interchange — the busiest single retail junction in Bangkok.
It is a joint venture between Siam Piwat, which also owns the adjoining Siam Center and Siam Discovery malls, and The Mall Group, which owns the Emporium and EmQuartier malls at Phrom Phong. The mall pairs flagship luxury boutiques (Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermès, Cartier, Versace, Dior, Balenciaga) with a large department store, aquarium and entertainment venues.
It sits directly opposite Siam Square and next to Siam Center, Siam Discovery and MBK Center, all linked by covered skywalks, making the Siam interchange a single walkable shopping district that also connects onward to CentralWorld at Ratchaprasong.
