King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) traces its history to a technical college founded in 1960 and was reorganised and elevated to full university status (with its current name) in 1998. It is one of Thailand's leading public universities for engineering, science and technology.
Its main campus is in Thung Khru district on the Thonburi side of Bangkok, near Bang Mod. KMUTT runs a number of English-medium international programs, including its long-established School of Information Technology (SIT), alongside its Thai-medium engineering and science faculties.
