Public institute · founded 2012 · San Pa Tong District
This is a degree-awarding higher-education institution rather than a school, and it is seated in Chiang Mai province. It was constituted under the Vocational Education Act B.E. 2551 by the 2555 (2012) ministerial regulation that merged vocational colleges into institutes of vocational education, and its founding order groups seven colleges across four provinces: Chiang Mai Technical College, Chiang Mai Vocational College, Chiang Mai College of Agriculture and Technology, Lamphun Technical College, Lampang Technical College, Lampang Vocational College, and Navamindarajini Mae Hong Son Industrial and Community Education College.
The institute's head office is at 171 Moo 11, Tambon Yu Wa, San Pa Tong District -- about 20 km south-west of the city, and not the Chang Phueak address some directories carry. It runs its own Office of the Vocational Baccalaureate, admits directly to the Bachelor of Technology (ทล.บ.) programme, and holds a royally-conferred degree ceremony for its graduates. Subjects visible in the institute's own 2026 activity include Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology and Hotel Management, taught inside the member colleges. That matters for anyone weighing a technical route in Chiang Mai: three of the seven member colleges are in the province, so a bachelor's degree is reachable from the vocational track without leaving it.
