The most significant omission this guide had: a full American-curriculum international school inside Chonburi province, opened in August 2022, and entirely absent from BAANLYY until now. Wells Chonburi is the fifth campus of the Wells International School group and sits at Ban Bueng, inland from Chonburi city and north-east of Sriracha — the only international school in the province outside the Sriracha–Bo Win and Bang Lamung clusters. It is built around a partnership with Villa Forest and a 'baan-wat-rong rien' (บ้าน-วัด-โรงเรียน) philosophy of home, temple and school, on a green, agricultural site. It is also the clearest example in this whole directory of why a group badge must be read carefully — see accreditation below.

Where the campus actually is

Neither of the province's two main clusters — a third location of its own, inland at Ban Bueng. That is genuinely useful for families housed around Chonburi city, Ban Bueng or the northern estates, for whom Sriracha is a drive and Bang Lamung is out of the question. It is correspondingly poor for a Laem Chabang or Pattaya-side base. Ban Bueng is not one of BAANLYY's Chonburi area guides, and we would rather say so than pretend an area page exists.
The campus
A green, low-density site developed with Villa Forest and set beside an agricultural centre, with sustainability and outdoor learning built into the school's stated philosophy rather than added to it. Groundbreaking was in December 2021 and the campus opened the following August.
The academic pathway
- Nursery and Kindergarten
- Elementary
- Middle school
- A high school section, which the campus's own background page says opened in its third year, from August 2024
Leaving qualification: Not established. Given the unresolved question over the campus's top grade, do not assume a US high school diploma is awarded at Ban Bueng — ask
Accreditation, exam boards & membership
- READ THIS BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE: the IB World School badge, the WASC accreditation mark, ONESQA, the Thai Ministry of Education and ISAT all appear in the site-wide FOOTER of every wells.ac.th page, Chonburi's included. Those are GROUP-level marks
- The Wells site's own navigation places 'IB Diploma Programme', 'IB CAS' and 'AP Program at Wells' exclusively under the Wells On Nut campus. The Wells Chonburi section of the same menu contains only 'Overview' and 'Campus Background' — no IB and no AP page exists for this campus
- We therefore find no evidence that the Chonburi campus itself holds IB World School authorisation or runs Advanced Placement. A footer badge is not a campus credential, and this is the single most likely way a family shortlisting Wells Chonburi could be misled
- Thai Ministry of Education — the group is licensed; confirm the campus licence separately
Boarding
No boarding is advertised at the Chonburi campus. Treat it as a day school.
Religious character
No religious character is published.
Scale of the school
The campus publishes no roll. Head of campus: Sunée Steyn. Wells describes its overall positioning as 'quality international education at reasonable price', which places it below the Bangkok-tier international schools on cost and is a large part of why it is worth knowing about.
Who it tends to suit
Families housed around Chonburi city, Ban Bueng or the northern end of the province who want an American-curriculum international school without a Sriracha or Pattaya drive, and who are willing to do the homework on exactly how far the campus goes.

- THE TOP GRADE IS THE FIRST QUESTION. Wells' own materials give three different answers: the Chonburi campus page says 'Nursery – Grade 10'; the live admissions enquiry form on the same website offers 'Wells Chonburi - Nursery - Grade 9'; and the campus fee schedule runs to a Grade 11–12 tier. The campus background page separately says a high school section opened from August 2024. We publish all four readings because we cannot responsibly pick one. Telephone the campus and ask which year groups are actually staffed and running THIS academic year.
- Ask, in writing, whether the Chonburi campus is itself an authorised IB World School and whether it offers Advanced Placement — or whether those belong to the On Nut campus. Do not accept the website footer as the answer.
- Ask what happens after the campus's top year: does a student transfer to Wells On Nut in Bangkok, and if so, is that a boarding arrangement, a relocation, or a two-hour commute?
- Ask for the current fee schedule directly. The figures circulating in directories are drawn from historic PDFs.
- Establish which Chonburi the campus is in before anything else. Ask for the tambon (sub-district) and amphoe (district) in writing, put that into a map, and drive it from your own address at 07:00 on a weekday. 'Chonburi' covers both the Sriracha industrial corridor and the Pattaya hinterland at Bang Lamung, 40–60 km apart, and essentially every schools directory files both — plus Rayong province's schools — under a single 'Pattaya' heading.
- Ask whether an accreditation, an IB authorisation or an Advanced Placement programme shown on a website belongs to THIS CAMPUS or to the group. Multi-campus groups display group marks in a site-wide footer that appears identically on every campus page, and at least one Chonburi campus is affected.
- Ask what year group the campus actually tops out at THIS academic year — not what the prospectus plans, and not what the fee table implies.
- Ask whether the school holds a current Thai Ministry of Education licence, and for a school that is new or expanding, whether the licence covers the years your child would be in.
- Ask for the current fee schedule in writing. BAANLYY does not publish per-school tuition figures — they are revised annually, every school publishes its own, and the figures circulating in directories are frequently drawn from historic documents.

BAANLYY does not rank, endorse or accept payment from schools. Facts on this page are compiled from Wells International School — Chonburi Campus's own official website, its group's corporate pages and its accrediting bodies, and where a fact is reported inconsistently — including where a school contradicts itself — we publish both readings rather than pick one. Always confirm current admissions, fees and campus details directly with the school. Visit the official Wells International School — Chonburi Campus website →
