Western University, Kanchanaburi Campus at a glance
Western University is a private Thai university whose main campus -- and its president's office -- sits at 600 Sa Long Ruea Subdistrict, Huai Krachao District, Kanchanaburi 71170, about an hour's drive east of Kanchanaburi town. It was licensed as a private higher-education institution under licence 2/2540 (1997), originally as Napalai University in U Thong District, Suphan Buri, before relocating to Huai Krachao and taking its present name on 16 August 2004.
Its Kanchanaburi campus is best known locally for the Faculty of Nursing, which received Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council approval to operate on 10 August 2007 and has taught there since the 2007 academic year. Western University also runs faculties of Veterinary Medicine and Dentistry; BAANLYY could not confirm from published sources which of those teach at Huai Krachao rather than at the university's Bangkok-area sites, so confirm the campus for a specific programme with the university before planning a move around it.
