Krabi Technical College (KBTC) opened for teaching on 17 May 1982, per the college's own official site, starting with two departments -- Construction and Automotive. It sits in Pak Nam Subdistrict, Mueang District, Krabi Province, and operates under Thailand's Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC).
It is also a member college of the Institute of Vocational Education: Southern Region 2, a degree-awarding institute constituted under the Vocational Education Act B.E. 2551, and that is the fact this page had wrong until September 2026. The institute's own programme pages carry THREE Bachelor of Technology (ทล.บ.) degrees taught at the Krabi campus: Automotive Technology, Marketing, and Digital Business Technology. All three are continuing degrees for holders of a ปวส. higher vocational certificate, and all three are timetabled around a job -- weekday evenings from 17.30 to 21.30 and/or weekends, with the workplace component run inside a partner firm. The Digital Business Technology degree is published with its CHECO reference at the Ministry of Higher Education and its accreditation records at the Office of the Civil Service Commission (ก.พ.) and the Office of the Teacher Civil Service Commission (ก.ค.ศ.), which is what makes it usable in Thai public-sector employment.
The institute that confers those degrees is not in Krabi: its office is at 215 Sanambin-Mueang Mai Road, Thep Krasattri, Thalang District, Phuket. That is exactly why a search for universities in Krabi does not find it, and why a reader can live opposite a campus teaching bachelor's degrees and never know the degrees exist.
The industry partner lists on those curricula are a fair map of who employs skilled labour in this province. The automotive degree names eleven firms, almost all of them Krabi or Andaman dealerships and workshops -- Toyota Andaman Krabi, MG Krabi, BYD BD Auto Krabi, NETA Krabi, Ford Krabi, Mazda, Isuzu Andaman, Hino's Ao Luek branch, Mitsu Chukiat and an EV specialist -- and the marketing degree names CP All, Major Cineplex, Robinson's Trang store and local trading firms. The digital business degree partners are Krabi media, design and print companies.
Below degree level KBTC still does the bulk of its work: ปวช. and ปวส. programmes spanning electrical power, automotive, construction, industrial machinery, electronics, business computing, information technology, accounting, secretarial studies, tourism, marketing and hotel-department tracks -- training the skilled workforce for Krabi's construction, automotive and tourism-driven economy.
