Ruamrudee International School opened its second campus in the Ratchapruek area of Nonthaburi in August 2019, extending a school whose original Min Buri campus is one of the longest-established international schools in Thailand. RISR runs an American international curriculum from Pre-K2 through Grade 12, is fully accredited by WASC, offers Advanced Placement courses, and is an authorised IB World School for the Diploma Programme -- making it one of only a small number of schools in the province offering both the AP and IB routes. The school describes itself as consistently inclusive, with differentiated instruction, English language acquisition support across the curriculum and a Learning Support programme providing personalised accommodations. It is a Catholic school by its own mission statement, and interfaith and inclusive by the same sentence.

Reached by road via the Ratchaphruek and Bang Kruai-Sai Noi corridors west of the river. Note that the campus is branded "Ratchapruek" after the wider area, but its published address is on Bang Kruai-Sai Noi Road in Bang Krang -- directories that file it as a Pak Kret school are wrong about the district.
Is it on a rail line?
No. RISR is the one school on this list with no meaningful rail story at all. Bang Kruai-Sai Noi Road runs west of the Chao Phraya through Bang Krang, well away from both the Purple Line's Rattanathibet corridor and the Pink Line's Tiwanon and Chaeng Watthana corridor. This is a car and school-bus school, and families should plan on that basis.

Religious character
Catholic. The school's own mission statement reads: "Ruamrudee International School is a Catholic school that provides an interfaith, inclusive, and academically rigorous education." It describes itself as interfaith and inclusive, and the name Ruamrudee is Thai for "union of hearts". Families for whom a religious foundation is a positive, a negative or simply a thing to know should have it stated plainly rather than discovered at the open day.

Who it suits
Families who want a full American pathway with both AP and the IB Diploma on one campus and do not need to be in the Pak Kret school belt; families who value an explicitly inclusive school -- RISR runs a Learning Support programme and English language development across the curriculum; and families west of the river for whom Pak Kret is the wrong side of a bad commute.
What we could not verify — and where sources disagree
We publish these openly rather than smoothing them over. A school guide that hides its uncertainty is not much use to a family making a decision this big.
- RISR opened in August 2019 and its first cohort ran through to the Class of 2026, so its graduate track record is genuinely short. That is a fact about age, not quality -- but a family choosing a sixth form on university-placement history should ask how many cohorts there have actually been.
- The school publishes an AQI policy document but we have not verified what classroom air filtration, if any, it describes. Ask directly rather than assuming provision.
- bkkschools.com files RISR under "Nonthaburi - Pak Kret". The school's own footer says Mueang Nonthaburi. We publish the school's own district.

- Does the school actually go as far as your child needs? Two of the eight -- St. Andrews Samakee (14) and MYIS (16 for now) -- stop before the end of secondary, so you will be choosing a second school. Ask before you enrol, not in Year 8.
- Which rail line, if any, is genuinely usable for your household? Nonthaburi has the Purple and Pink lines, but no campus here is a station-to-gate walk. Establish whether you are a rail family with a feeder leg, or a car family who happens to live near a station.
- What does the school bus actually cover, and is your address inside the catchment? In a province split by the Chao Phraya and by two motorway corridors, the bus map decides which neighbourhoods are realistic far more than the distance on a map does.
- Drive the run at 07:00 on a weekday before you sign a lease. Chaeng Watthana, Ratchaphruek and Tiwanon at rush hour bear no relation to the same roads at midday.
- Is the accreditation whole-school, or is it an examination-board authorisation? Cambridge, IB and College Board authorisations say a school may run those exams. WASC, CIS, COBIS, Cognia and ISQM assess the whole school. Both matter, and they are not the same claim.
- If faith matters to you in either direction, ask directly. Two of the eight schools are explicitly Christian -- one Catholic, one Bible-based and ACSI-affiliated -- and the other six publish no religious character at all.
- Ask what the year group's actual size is this year, not the school's total roll. Several of these schools are small by design, which many families want -- but you should know the number before you decide, not after.
