Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi is a state university headquartered in this province: its Office of the Rector sits in the Boon Mongkol building at 60 Moo 3, Asia Road, Hantra Sub-district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya 13000. The university was created on 18 January 2005 as one of nine Rajamangala universities of technology, formed by merging four existing campuses -- Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hantra, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Wasukri, Nonthaburi and Suphan Buri. Two of those four are in this province, which makes Ayutthaya the university's seat and its largest teaching base, not an outpost of it.

The second Ayutthaya site, the Wasukri Centre, is inside the city at 19 Moo 3, U Thong Road, Tha Wasukri Sub-district -- the ring road around the historic island -- and houses the Faculty of Business Administration and Information Technology among others. The Hantra centre, about four kilometres east of the island on the Asia Road, carries engineering, agriculture, science and technology, and liberal arts. The university teaches from vocational certificate level through to doctorate, so a household can find a technical certificate and a research degree under one charter within the same province.

The practical point for anyone searching from outside Thailand: the university is named for Suvarnabhumi, not for Ayutthaya, so a search for "universities in Ayutthaya" by name returns the Rajabhat university and stops. BAANLYY's own Nonthaburi registry already recorded that this university's president's office is at Hantra in Ayutthaya -- the province that hosts it was the one page that did not say so.
