Royal Thai Police — Immigration Bureau
Immigration Division 1, housed inside the Chaeng Wattana Government Complex in Lak Si, is the main immigration office for anyone living in Bangkok. It is where residents handle annual extensions of stay, re-entry permits and most in-person 90-day address reporting.
The office runs on a queue-ticket system and is one of the busiest immigration counters in the country, so most expats plan to arrive early, particularly for extension appointments. The MRT Pink Line's Government Complex station, opened in November 2023, sits directly at the complex and has made the once taxi-or-bus-only journey considerably easier.
