Ministry of Finance — The Revenue Department
The Revenue Department is Thailand's tax authority, and it has become a live question for long-stay foreigners since Thailand changed how foreign-sourced income remitted into the country is treated. Anyone present in Thailand for 180 days or more in a tax year is a Thai tax resident — a threshold many DTV, LTR and retirement-visa holders cross without particularly noticing.
The headquarters at 90 Soi Phaholyothin 7 sets policy and runs the national filing systems. Individual business — registering for a tax identification number, filing in person, asking about your own case — is normally done at the area revenue office covering your registered address, not at headquarters. Bring the same proof of address a landlord gives you for immigration purposes.
Address: 90 Soi Phaholyothin 7, Phaholyothin Road, Phaya Thai, Bangkok 10400
Hours: Mon–Fri on standard Thai civil-service hours; closed weekends and public holidays; the department's call centre is 1161
Nearest station: Ari (BTS Sukhumvit Line) sits at the mouth of Soi Phahonyothin 7 — the headquarters is well inside the soi toward Rama VI Road, so allow a walk or a short ride rather than expecting a station-adjacent building
