British + IB Diploma · Bang Na (Sukhumvit 105)
Thailand's original British international school, founded in 1957 and now one of the largest international schools in the country. Bangkok Patana runs the English National Curriculum through IGCSEs, then the International Baccalaureate in the sixth form, on a large purpose-built campus in Bang Na.
Address: 643 La Salle Road (Sukhumvit 105), Bang Na Tai, Bang Na, Bangkok
A single purpose-built campus of roughly 17 hectares in Bang Na — unusually large for an international school inside the city, with the full sports and performing-arts estate that implies.
Getting there: No station at the gate. La Salle Road runs south off Sukhumvit Road; the nearest BTS Sukhumvit Line stations (Bang Na and Udom Suk) are a feeder ride away, and the great majority of families use the school's own bus network rather than rail.
Bangkok school runs are decided by traffic, not distance. Cross-check with the Bangkok getting-around guide and the BTS and MRT network before you commit to a neighbourhood.
How a child progresses through the school, stage by stage:
Accreditation is the closest thing to an objective quality signal in international schooling — it means an outside body has inspected governance, teaching and safeguarding. BAANLYY does not rank schools, so this is what Bangkok Patana School and its accrediting bodies publish, not our verdict:
Boarding: Day school — no boarding.
Scale: One of the largest international rolls in Thailand, commonly reported at 2,300-plus students across around 65 nationalities, with a substantial British contingent. Roll and nationality figures move every year and schools report them differently — treat these as indicative and ask the admissions office for the current numbers.
Families who want a big, established British school with depth of facilities, co-curricular breadth and an IB sixth form, and who are willing to live east or ride the bus network to get it.
This is our editorial read for relocation planning, not a ranking or a recommendation — and no school pays to appear on BAANLYY. Visit shortlisted campuses before you decide.
Patana anchors the eastern-Sukhumvit family belt. Most families live along the Sukhumvit spine east of Ekkamai or in the low-rise streets around Bang Na.
Check the school's bus catchment before you sign — a home that looks close on a map can sit outside the route, and a home on the route can be twenty minutes further away and still be the easier morning.
BAANLYY deliberately does not publish per-school tuition figures: they change annually, schools publish their own current schedules, and a stale number is worse than none. Take this list to the admissions office:
BAANLYY does not rank, endorse or accept payment from schools. Facts on this page are compiled from Bangkok Patana School's own official website and its accrediting bodies, and are provided for relocation planning — not as admissions or financial advice. Curricula, campuses, fees and admissions rules change; always confirm current details with the school.
Primary and official sources are cited above. Government rules, fees and procedures in Thailand change over time and vary by office; always confirm current requirements with the relevant authority before relying on them. BAANLYY never takes paid placement in editorial content.
