A large suburban campus inside the gated Nichada Thani estate — playing fields, aquatic and arts facilities on a scale central campuses cannot match.

Getting there: No rail link. ISB sits outside Bangkok proper in Nonthaburi province; the campus is reached by road, and the near-universal answer is to live inside or beside Nichada Thani and walk or cycle in. Commuting daily from central Bangkok is a genuinely hard school run.

Bangkok school runs are decided by traffic, not distance. Cross-check with the Bangkok getting-around guide and the BTS and MRT network before you commit to a neighbourhood.

Accreditation is the closest thing to an objective quality signal in international schooling — it means an outside body has inspected governance, teaching and safeguarding. Boarding and the size of the school

Boarding: Day school — no boarding.

Scale: Commonly reported at around 1,800 students from 60-plus nationalities, with a long-standing American and diplomatic core. Roll and nationality figures move every year and schools report them differently — treat these as indicative and ask the admissions office for the current numbers.

Who this school tends to suit

Families on a US-curriculum track, diplomatic and corporate postings, and anyone who wants suburban space, a walkable gated community and serious sports facilities more than they want city life.

Living near International School Bangkok (ISB)

ISB is the clearest case in Bangkok of the school choosing the neighbourhood. Nichada Thani itself is the answer for most families; the wider Nonthaburi market is the fallback.

Check the school's bus catchment before you sign — a home that looks close on a map can sit outside the route, and a home on the route can be twenty minutes further away and still be the easier morning.

What to confirm directly with the school

BAANLYY deliberately does not publish per-school tuition figures: they change annually, schools publish their own current schedules, and a stale number is worse than none. Take this list to the admissions office:

• Housing inside Nichada Thani — the estate's rental stock is a separate market with its own agents and lease terms, and availability is tied to the school calendar.
• The current fee schedule — tuition, application and registration fees, any refundable deposit or capital/development levy, uniforms, lunches, the bus and trips.
• Whether the year group you need has a place, or a waitlist, for your intended start date.
• School bus routes, catchment zones and pick-up times for the neighbourhood you are considering — these matter more than straight-line distance in Bangkok traffic.
• Entry requirements: assessments, interviews, English-language support and the school reports or transcripts you must supply.
