A compact, vertical urban campus — dense rather than sprawling, which is the trade-off for the central location.

Getting there: The best-connected major international school in the city: BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit are roughly a ten-minute walk, or a few minutes by taxi. A genuine no-car school run.

Bangkok school runs are decided by traffic, not distance. Cross-check with the Bangkok getting-around guide and the BTS and MRT network before you commit to a neighbourhood.

Boarding and the size of the school

Boarding: Day school — no boarding.

Scale: Around 1,800 students drawn from a reported 70-plus nationalities — one of the most nationally mixed rolls in Bangkok, a legacy of its UN origins. Roll and nationality figures move every year and schools report them differently — treat these as indicative and ask the admissions office for the current numbers.

Living near NIST International School

NIST is the one major campus you can realistically walk to. Central Sukhumvit between Nana and Phrom Phong is the natural catchment.

Check the school's bus catchment before you sign — a home that looks close on a map can sit outside the route, and a home on the route can be twenty minutes further away and still be the easier morning.

What to confirm directly with the school

BAANLYY deliberately does not publish per-school tuition figures: they change annually, schools publish their own current schedules, and a stale number is worse than none. Take this list to the admissions office:

• Waitlist depth — NIST's central location and single campus make some year groups persistently oversubscribed.
• The current fee schedule — tuition, application and registration fees, any refundable deposit or capital/development levy, uniforms, lunches, the bus and trips.
• Whether the year group you need has a place, or a waitlist, for your intended start date.
• School bus routes, catchment zones and pick-up times for the neighbourhood you are considering — these matter more than straight-line distance in Bangkok traffic.
• Entry requirements: assessments, interviews, English-language support and the school reports or transcripts you must supply.
