Regional Campus of a Public University (degree-awarding) · founded 2003 · Huai Rat
Ramkhamhaeng University -- Thailand's open-admission public university -- operates a regional campus in Buriram, established on 16 June 2003 through a partnership between the province and the Buriram Chamber of Commerce on a 323-rai site known as Khok Khao Noi. Per the campus's own history page it is Ramkhamhaeng's 17th regional campus (counting Bang Na) and its 34th examination centre.
It is the one higher-education institution on this list that is not in Mueang Buriram: it sits in Huai Rat District, east of the city. Because Ramkhamhaeng is an open university, it widens local access considerably -- students can read for Ramkhamhaeng bachelor's degrees without relocating to Bangkok, and the campus also hosts special-programme master's intakes including the MBA and the Master of Political Science. Confirm the current programme list and examination arrangements directly with the campus.
