Kantana Institute at a glance
Kantana Institute is a private, specialist degree-granting institute for entertainment-media production, founded to carry on the intention of Pradit Kanchanaruk, who founded the Kantana Group. Its first bachelor's programme -- the Bachelor of Fine and Applied Arts, with strands in film production and animation production -- opened in the 2010 academic year, and a television production strand for transmedia communication was added in the 2012 revised curriculum. A Master of Management follows at graduate level.
The campus occupies 10 rai at 999 Moo 2 on the Salaya-Bang Phasi road in Khlong Yong, inside the 600-rai Kantana Movie Town complex, and the buildings are deliberately single-storey and studio-like so that teaching happens in working production spaces. It is the second of the province's two private degree-granting institutions and, being neither a university by name nor a public body, is the single easiest one to miss.
