Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University's Nakhon Ratchasima campus is at 419 Ban Hua Thanon, Chat Phatthana Road, Tambon Hua Thale, Amphoe Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima 30000 — inside the city, a few kilometres south-east of the centre. It began as Nakhon Ratchasima Buddhist College, founded on 28 March 1986, was approved by the university council as a full campus (วิทยาเขต) with effect from 30 October 1986, and taught its first classes on 20 May 1987.

It matters to this registry for a reason that has nothing to do with religion: it is a degree-awarding campus of a state university, physically inside Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima, that this site's guides did not mention at all. Its five bachelor's programmes are Buddhist Studies, Thai Language Teaching, English, Political Science, and Buddhist Management — three of which are ordinary secular subjects. Lay students are admitted alongside monastic ones, and the English and Political Science degrees in particular are taken by lay residents.

Anything written about MCU before 2019 files it under the Ministry of Education. The Buddhist universities moved with the rest of Thai higher education to MHESI that year, so the ministry named in older sources is wrong.
