Where this school stops

This is Pathum Thani’s first question, not its last. Three of the province’s eight schools end at roughly age eleven — including two of the best-known names in the AIT and Thammasat corridor.

Grade 6, roughly age 11 -- with a caveat the school itself creates. Its FAQ states plainly that TIS 'currently offers classes from Nursery to Grade 6, with plans to expand in the future', and its WASC accreditation is described in the school's own words as running 'from Nursery - Grade 6'. Its Academics navigation nonetheless carries a Middle School page describing Middle and High School path programmes. Both statements are on the same website. A family with a ten-year-old should resolve this in a phone call before enrolling, and should ask specifically whether any year group above Grade 6 is inside the WASC accreditation.

Where the campus actually is

456 Moo 5, Rangsit-Pathum Thani Road, Ban Klang, Mueang Pathum Thani District, Pathum Thani 12000

A 30-rai riverside campus in Ban Klang with gardens, a small lake and campus animals -- the trade-off for that setting is that it is a drive from Rangsit's condo and mall belt. Confirm the school-bus catchment before choosing an address.

Rail: today, and in 2029

The SRT Dark Red Line currently terminates at Rangsit. Contracts for the 8.84 km extension to Thammasat University’s Rangsit campus — four stations at Khlong Nueng, Bangkok University, Chiang Rak and Thammasat University Rangsit Campus — were signed in May 2026, with construction expected to start in July 2026 and service targeted for 2029.

Not on any current or planned rail. The campus is on Rangsit-Pathum Thani Road by the river in Mueang Pathum Thani, several kilometres west of the Phahonyothin corridor the Red Line extension will follow. Neither the existing Rangsit terminus nor any of the four Phase II stations serves this address.

The curriculum pathway, stage by stage

• Early Years -- Nursery, K1, K2 and K3, described by the school as play-based academic learning.
• Primary -- Grades 1 to 5, following an American curriculum aligned to US Common Core standards.
• Middle -- the school publishes a Middle School page describing Middle School and High School 'path programs' with specialisations in Athletics, Performing Arts and STEAM. Read the flags below before assuming this is a full secondary school.
• Throughout: Thai and Chinese language instruction alongside English-medium core subjects.

Accreditations & authorisations

Worth separating: an examination-board authorisation (Cambridge, IB, CBSE, College Board) means a school may enter pupils for those exams. A whole-school accreditation (WASC, CIS, COBIS, Cognia, ISQM) assesses the school itself. Both matter; they are not the same claim — and an accreditation can cover only part of a school’s year range.

• Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) -- accredited, in the school's own words, 'from Nursery - Grade 6'.
• ONESQA (Thailand's Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment).

• NWEA MAP -- the school uses this external assessment as its benchmarking instrument, which is a testing tool rather than an accreditation.

Religious character

None published. TIS instead states an explicit cultural emphasis -- Thai manners, traditions and etiquette taught alongside the American curriculum, which the school presents as a deliberate feature rather than a concession.

Boarding

None advertised. TIS presents itself as a day school.

Who it suits

Families who want an American primary education in a low-density, green setting and who value small classes -- the school publishes an average of 10 to 12 students per class, among the smallest figures in this rotation. It suits families with young children who either expect to move on around age eleven or are content to plan a second school.

What we could not verify — and where sources disagree

We publish these openly rather than smoothing them over. A school guide that hides its uncertainty is not much use to a family making a decision this big.

• The school's own site is internally inconsistent on how far it goes. FAQ: 'Nursery to Grade 6, with plans to expand.' Accreditation statement: WASC 'from Nursery - Grade 6.' Navigation: a Middle School page referencing Middle and High School path programmes. We report all three rather than pick one.
• Following from that: the Middle and High School path programmes sit outside the year range the school states its WASC accreditation covers. That is the accredited-versus-authorised distinction in a second form -- the accreditation may be real and still not cover the years your child would be in.
• BAANLYY's own schools hub previously mentioned TIS only in a single trailing sentence of a fee paragraph, describing it as an option 'for younger families' with no profile page, no address and no link. It is a WASC-accredited school ten minutes from the province's administrative centre.

Ask every Pathum Thani school this

• Does this school go as far as your child needs -- or is it a staging post? Three of the province's eight schools stop at roughly age 11, including the two best-known names in the AIT and Thammasat corridor. If your child is nine, you are choosing two schools, not one. Ask which schools families here typically move on to, and whether the school helps with that transfer.
• Ask about rail in two tenses. Today the Red Line terminates at Rangsit and no Pathum Thani campus has a station. Contracts for the extension to Thammasat Rangsit -- with a station at Khlong Nueng -- were signed in May 2026, with service targeted for 2029. Whether that is relevant to you depends entirely on how long you are staying.
• Check what the school year actually is. Global Indian International School runs an April-to-April Indian academic year; every other school here runs an August start. Moving mid-cycle between the two costs a child half a year in either direction.
• Is the accreditation whole-school, or is it an examination-board authorisation, and does it cover the year group your child is entering? Thai International School's WASC accreditation is stated by the school as covering Nursery to Grade 6 -- so a programme above that line is not inside the same claim.
• Is it a school, or a programme inside a school? The Invictus International Programme is an international pathway delivered within Sathitpathum Demonstration School, not a standalone international campus. That is a real and legitimate model, and it is not the same thing a directory listing implies.
• Drive the run at 07:00 on a weekday before you sign a lease. Phahonyothin, Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Road and the Rangsit junction at rush hour bear no relation to the same roads at midday, and Pathum Thani's school geography is spread across four districts.
• Ask what the year group's actual size is this year, not the school's total roll. Several schools here are small by design, which many families want -- but you should know the number before you decide.
• If faith or national curriculum matters to you in either direction, ask directly. Pathum Thani's eight schools include British, American, IB, Indian CBSE, Cambridge-bilingual and Thai-bilingual routes, and they are not interchangeable.
