The short version
Pathum Thani’s school scene is shaped by the institutions that put the province on the map — Thammasat University’s Rangsit campus and the postgraduate Asian Institute of Technology — and by a newer arrival that changed the ceiling. KIS International School Reignwood Park, open since August 2024 in Lam Luk Ka, is now an authorised IB World School running the full IB continuum with boarding from age nine. Around it sit a British school running to A-Level, a Cambridge-bilingual school on the Rangsit University campus, the only CBSE school in Thailand, a Thai bilingual network campus, two well-regarded American primary schools, and a Cambridge primary programme embedded in a Thai school.
The single most important thing to understand before you shortlist: three of these eight schools end at around age eleven — including AITIS, the province’s longest-established international school and the one families relocating for AIT or Thammasat are pointed to first. That is not a criticism of any of them. It is a planning fact, and earlier versions of this page did not carry it. Start with the table below. Where each school stops
Five of Pathum Thani’s eight schools take a child through to a university-entrance qualification. Three end at around Grade 6. Settle this before curriculum, before fees and before neighbourhood — it is the only variable that can invalidate every other decision you make.

A second caution learned elsewhere in Thailand and worth repeating here: “runs to 18” is not the same as “has a sixth form on this campus”. In Pattaya, Koh Samui and Krabi, several schools advertising A-Levels turned out to deliver them partly online or through a distance-learning partner. None of Pathum Thani’s schools advertises a blended sixth form, but ask the question directly before you enrol.

Accredited, or authorised? They are different words
A whole-school accreditation — WASC, CIS, COBIS, Cognia, ISQM — means an external body has inspected the school itself. An examination-board authorisation — Cambridge, IB, CBSE, College Board — means the school may enter pupils for those exams. Both matter. They are not the same claim, and a single “accredited” badge on a directory listing hides the difference. One further trap, live in this province: an accreditation can cover only part of a school’s year range.

Rail: what exists now, and what is being built
Today, no school in Pathum Thani has a rail station. The SRT Dark Red Line terminates at Rangsit, which is a genuine asset for the Rangsit and Future Park cluster — it is the fast run into Bangkok — but it is still a road journey from there to every campus on this page.
That is changing on a dated timetable. The 8.84 km Phase II extension from Rangsit to Thammasat University’s Rangsit campus went to tender in December 2025, bid winners were announced in January 2026, and contracts were signed in May 2026. It adds four stations — Khlong Nueng, Bangkok University, Chiang Rak and Thammasat University Rangsit Campus. Construction is expected to start in July 2026 and to run around 36 months, with service targeted for 2029.
Khlong Nueng is AITIS’s own sub-district. So the honest answer depends entirely on your horizon: a family here on a two-year posting should plan as a car household and treat the extension as irrelevant. A family expecting to stay a decade, or buying rather than renting in the Khlong Luang corridor, is looking at a materially different province by the end of it. We will not describe either as though it were the other.

Six curricula, and how to choose between them
Pathum Thani offers an unusually wide spread for a province of its size. KIS Reignwood Park is the full IB continuum, the strongest choice for families who expect to relocate internationally again, and the only one here offering the IB Career-related Programme alongside the Diploma. SIAM International School is the British route, EYFS through IGCSE to A-Level on one campus. SBS Rangsit blends a primary IB pathway into Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level, taught bilingually with Chinese as an additional language, at a meaningfully lower price. GIIS is India’s CBSE curriculum, on an April-to-April year — the right answer for families who need continuity with the Indian system and, on current information, the only CBSE option in the country. Sarasas Witaed Rangsit delivers the Thai national curriculum bilingually, the most affordable English-medium route and the one that leads to Thai rather than international qualifications. AITIS and TIS are both American-curriculum primary schools, small and well established, and both require a planned move at around eleven. Invictus at Sathitpathum is Cambridge Primary with genuine trilingual instruction, inside a Thai school.
The question that separates these more cleanly than price does: what leaving qualification does my child walk out with, and where does it travel? An IB Diploma, A-Levels and a CBSE Class 12 certificate open different doors in different countries, and Thai national qualifications open a different set again.
Before you trust a school listing
Two hazards specific to searching for schools in this province. First, Pathum Thani schools are routinely filed under Bangkok — Global Indian International School markets itself as “GIIS Bangkok” and KIS Reignwood Park advertises itself as a Bangkok school, though both campuses are in Pathum Thani. If you search “international schools Pathum Thani” you will not see everything that is here. Second, AI-generated school listicles now invent schools outright — elsewhere in Thailand we have found confidently written profiles, complete with curricula and fee figures, for schools that do not exist. Apply the three-part test to any name you meet: does it have its own website, a findable street address, and a phone number that answers? Every school on this page passes all three.
Admissions & relocation tips
Settle the finish line first: if your child is nine or older, check the stop-age table before anything else. AITIS applies a fixed 31 July cut-off for admission and charges a non-AIT application fee, and has historically prioritised places for AIT staff and student families — apply early if you are joining the institute. GIIS requires a written entrance examination from Class 1 and runs an April-to-April year, so plan the transfer window carefully in either direction. KIS Reignwood Park is still growing into its full grade range on a new campus, so confirm your child’s specific year group is running and staffed this year rather than simply offered. SBS Rangsit, Sarasas Witaed and SIAM are generally more flexible on entry timing. Expect an assessment or placement test, recent school reports and an interview almost everywhere. Gather transcripts, immunisation records and references before you leave home, confirm whether an employer or university package covers tuition, and shortlist a backup for your child’s year group. Then choose the home — and drive the run at 07:00 on a weekday before you sign.

Which Pathum Thani schools go all the way to 18?
Five of the eight: KIS Reignwood Park (to the IB Diploma or Career-related Programme), SIAM International School and SBS Rangsit (both to Cambridge A-Level), Global Indian International School (to CBSE Class 12) and Sarasas Witaed Rangsit (to Thai national qualifications). The other three — AIT International School, Thai International School and the Invictus programme — end at around age 11. If your child is nine, you are choosing two schools, not one.
Does AIT International School have a secondary school?
Its published admissions age table runs Nursery through Grade 6 and stops there, and its academic navigation carries only Pre-Kindergarten and Elementary sections. One historical paragraph on its own history page still describes three sections including a secondary school, which appears to be a legacy passage — the current admissions documentation is the operative source. Confirm directly with the school before assuming a Grade 7 place exists. Earlier versions of this BAANLYY page implied AITIS was a full through-school; it is not, and we have corrected that.
Is there an IB school in Pathum Thani?
Yes. KIS International School Reignwood Park in Lam Luk Ka is an authorised IB World School offering the full IB continuum — Primary Years, Middle Years, the Diploma Programme and the Career-related Programme — from Early Years to Grade 12, with boarding from age 9. It received Diploma Programme authorisation in October 2025. This page previously described it as a candidate school, which is no longer accurate. SBS Rangsit also runs a primary IB pathway before moving to Cambridge for secondary; directories record its PYP status as candidate, so confirm current authorisation with the school.
Will the Red Line reach Thammasat and AIT?
It is under construction, not open. The SRT Dark Red Line currently terminates at Rangsit. As a shape rather than a price: the bilingual and Thai-network routes (Sarasas Witaed, SBS Rangsit) sit well below the standalone international schools, and KIS Reignwood Park sits at the top of the province's range.
Are there affordable bilingual options in Pathum Thani?
Yes, and they are genuinely different products. Sarasas Witaed Rangsit teaches Thai national curriculum content bilingually and leads to Thai qualifications — the most affordable English-medium route here. SBS Rangsit costs more and leads to Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level. The Invictus International Programme at Sathitpathum sits between them as a Cambridge Primary pathway inside a Thai school. Ask what leaving qualification each one produces, not just what it charges — for a family that may move country again, that is the decision.
Where should families live for schools in Pathum Thani?
Base yourself on the school, because the province is bigger than it looks. AITIS families live on or beside the AIT campus in Khlong Luang. SBS Rangsit, SIAM and Sarasas families generally settle around Rangsit and Future Park, which is also the current rail terminus. KIS families cluster in Reignwood Park in Lam Luk Ka, or use its boarding from age 9. TIS, GIIS and Invictus families are spread along the riverside in Mueang Pathum Thani.
