Institute of Vocational Education, Central Region 1 at a glance
This is a degree-awarding body headquartered in Pathum Thani that no list of the province's universities would ever surface, because it is not a university. The Institute of Vocational Education, Central Region 1 groups technical, vocational and shipbuilding colleges across four provinces — Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Ayutthaya and Saraburi — into a single higher-education institute under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, and it awards the Bachelor of Technology to students continuing from a vocational high diploma. Its head office is at 399 Moo 6 on the Rangsit–Pathum Thani Road in Bang Phun, and at the time of writing it is led in an acting capacity by the director of Pathum Thani Technical College.
The institute's own website lists ten constituent colleges, three of them in Pathum Thani: Pathum Thani Technical College, Thanyaburi Technical College and Pathum Thani Vocational College — the last of these, on the same Bang Phun road as the head office, serving as the institute's administrative and teaching centre. For a school-leaver in Pathum Thani who takes the vocational route rather than the academic one, this is the body whose degree they finish with.
