This is the only place in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan -- the provincial capital -- where you can study to a bachelor's degree without leaving the district, and for that reason alone it belongs on any honest map of higher education in this province. Thailand's technical colleges are grouped into regional Institutes of Vocational Education, and those institutes -- not the individual colleges -- confer degrees. Prachuap Khiri Khan Technical College is one of seven constituent colleges of the Institute of Vocational Education: Central Region 5, whose other members sit in Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram and Phetchaburi. IVEC Central Region 5's published programme list names this college twice: the Bachelor of Technology in Automotive Technology and the Bachelor of Technology in Production Technology.
