Until this revision, this page told you the province had two university campuses and that both were in Hua Hin. That was wrong. There are 6 higher-education sites here across 2 districts, a bachelor's degree has been available in the provincial capital for years, and the best-known “Hua Hin” university campus of all is not in this province at all. Here is the real map, and what each site actually awards.
The old version of this page said Prachuap Khiri Khan has two university campuses, both in Hua Hin. That sentence appeared in the headline, the page title, the search description, the social card and two of the statistics above, and the fact that five surfaces agreed did not make it true — it was one claim copied five times.
It was wrong three ways. A bachelor's degree has been available in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan — the provincial capital — for years, at the technical college on Salacheep Road. A third university, Kasetsart, has held a 102-rai site at Nong Kae in Hua Hin the whole time, and BAANLYY's own Prachuap vets guide has named it on every visit, so two of our own pages disagreed with each other. And the two institutions we did carry were themselves misdescribed: Suan Dusit calls its Hua Hin site a centre rather than a campus, and we had repeated a widely-circulated claim that it sits on Airports of Thailand land, which the university's own estate register does not support.
One more correction, on 7 September 2026. This page used to call Kasetsart's 102 rai at Nong Kae the largest higher-education site in the province, including in the statistics above. That was our own superlative and we had not taken the census: RMUTR's Wang Klai Kangwon Campus publishes 235 rai for its Suan Son zone alone, and it has three further zones besides. A superlative is a census claim, so it is either counted or it is not written.
Three sites, in two districts. Two are university sites in Hua Hin; the third is the technical college in town, whose degrees are conferred by a regional institute rather than by the college itself — a mechanism that is completely invisible from its name.
These are real, substantial higher-education sites — one of them the largest by land area in the province — but none of them issues the qualification you would come away with. Leaving them off a list of universities in Prachuap Khiri Khan is what produced the two-campus error in the first place; listing them without this caveat would be the opposite mistake.
The best-known international university anyone will mention when you say Hua Hin is Stamford International University, whose campus is marketed under that name and is genuinely close by. It is not in this province. Its published address is 1458 Phetkasem Road, Cha-am, Phetchaburi 76120 — on the far side of the provincial boundary, in the Cha-am–Hua Hin strip that straddles it. Nothing is wrong with the campus or the name; the two towns run into each other and the university gives Cha-am plainly in its own address. But if you are choosing a district, a school catchment, a hospital or an immigration office around where you will be studying, the province is what decides those, and the marketing name will send you to the wrong one.
Wang Klai Kangwon. Three separate Hua Hin institutions take their name from the palace: RMUTR's Wang Klai Kangwon Campus, a university campus awarding bachelor's degrees; Wang Klai Kangwon Vocational College, founded in 1987 on the royal initiative of the Princess Mother and teaching to higher vocational diploma level; and Wang Klai Kangwon School, a separate school entirely. A search for the name returns all three, and they are not interchangeable.
Technical College versus College of Technology. Mueang district has both, and in English the names are nearly identical. Prachuap Khiri Khan Technical College is public, sits at 302 Salacheep Road in Tambon Prachuap Khiri Khan, and reaches bachelor's level through the Institute of Vocational Education: Central Region 5. Prachuap Khiri Khan College of Technology is private, sits at 14 Moo 9 in Tambon Khlong Wan, and teaches to higher vocational diploma level without conferring degrees. Different sector, different sub-district, different ceiling. An earlier version of this registry gave the risk of confusing the two as its reason for profiling neither; the better answer is to publish the difference.
Primary and official sources are cited above. Government rules, fees and procedures in Thailand change over time and vary by office; always confirm current requirements with the relevant authority before relying on them. BAANLYY never takes paid placement in editorial content.
Institution-level facts on this page were taken from each body's own published material and checked on 1 September 2026: the Institute of Vocational Education: Central Region 5 programme list, Suan Dusit University's estate register, RMUTR's university profile, the Civil Aviation Training Center's site directory, Kasetsart University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Stamford International University's own campus address. BAANLYY does not rank, endorse or accept payment from educational institutions, and publishes no per-institution fee figures — those change annually and belong on the institution's own current schedule.
Hua Hin and Prachuap town are ninety minutes apart and price very differently. Tell us which site you need to be near, your budget and your move-in date, and we'll point you to condos and shared housing that actually work for the commute.
