Trang Technical College at a glance
Trang Technical College is a public vocational college on the Trang-Palian road in Ban Khuan Subdistrict, Mueang District, operating under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC). Its core work is Thailand's vocational certificate (Por Wor Chor) and higher vocational certificate (Por Wor Sor) -- programs spanning construction, machinery and machine-tool maintenance, commerce, electrical and electronics, metalwork, food and nutrition, and business computing at certificate level, with accounting, secretarial studies, business computing, machinery, technical production, electrical power and electronics at the higher vocational level.
It is also, and this is the part usually missed, a bachelor's-degree college. Trang Technical College is a member college of the Institute of Vocational Education Southern Region 2 (Sathaban Kan Achiwasueksa Phak Tai 2), the degree-awarding institute that also covers Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga and Ranong, and it teaches Bachelor of Technology (continuing) programs on its own Trang campus -- Information Technology, Accounting, Automotive Technology and Electrical Technology among them. A Por Wor Sor graduate can therefore continue to a degree without leaving Trang.
