Trang Province has 7 degree-granting higher-education campuses, spread across 4 of its 10 districts and answering to 4 different ministries. That is more than most directories credit it with, because several of them sit outside the higher-education ministry -- a sports university under Tourism and Sports, two Ministry of Public Health colleges, and a technical college that quietly awards bachelor's degrees through its vocational institute. Here is what each actually offers, and where it actually is.
Between them they cover business, tourism, architecture, fisheries science, hospitality, engineering, law, mass communication, physical education and sports science, nursing, public health and the skilled trades. 4 are universities or university campuses; the rest are degree-awarding specialist colleges.
The 7 campuses above are the ones we can confirm award degrees in Trang Province. We list a campus separately from its parent university when teaching physically happens here, which is why Ramkhamhaeng's Trang regional campus appears even though the degree is awarded by Ramkhamhaeng in Bangkok.
Trang has no Rajabhat university and no private university of its own, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Nor is this the full picture of vocational training: alongside Trang Technical College the province runs a wider network of state vocational colleges — Trang College of Agriculture and Technology at Na Tham Nuea in Mueang Trang, Huai Yot Industrial and Community Education College, Trang Industrial and Community Education College, Trang Polytechnic College, and Kantang Industrial and Community Education College, which despite its name sits at Tha Kham in Palian District rather than in Kantang. We have not individually verified the certificate-level catalogue of each of those, so we name them here rather than profile them above.
For most relocating families the practical point is simpler: undergraduate study in English is not what Trang offers. Teaching is overwhelmingly in Thai. What Trang does offer is a real, working higher-education base in your own province — a nursing degree in Thap Thiang, a public-health degree in Kantang, an evening-and-weekend law or business degree on the Palian road, and a route from a vocational certificate to a bachelor's without moving to Hat Yai.
