BCNU Udon Thani at a glance
The province's nursing college is the second Udon Thani institution that a higher-education search will not surface, because it belongs to a different ministry: it is part of the Faculty of Nursing of the Praboromarajchanok Institute, under the Ministry of Public Health. It opened in 1975 as a nurse-assistant school under the ministry's nursing-colleges division, on a cramped seven-rai plot at 33/25 Pho Niyom Road in Mak Khaeng, with no room to expand.
It moved on 5 June 1998 to a purpose-built 50-rai campus at 88 Moo 1, Nong Phai Subdistrict, on the Mittraphap highway in Mueang Udon Thani District, funded by a 115-million-baht budget committed across 1995--1998. It teaches a single degree: the four-year, 124-credit Bachelor of Nursing Science, in its 2022 revision, approved by the Praboromarajchanok Institute council on 23 June 2022 and endorsed by the Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council on 20 June 2022.
