The eight degree routes BAANLYY has profiled
This is a list of what we have checked, not a claim to have counted every institution in the province. Where we could not verify something — a founding year, a current programme list — the entity page says so rather than filling the gap.
Two of these are invisible to a “universities in Udon Thani” search
Thailand's degree-awarding institutions do not all sit under one ministry, and lists of “universities in province X” are almost always drawn from the higher-education ministry's register alone. Two of Udon Thani's eight fall outside it. Thailand National Sports University, Udon Thani Campus — a full campus with three faculties, 116 rai at the provincial stadium, teaching since 1975 — reports to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Udon Thani — 50 rai at Nong Phai, one four-year degree, also since 1975 — reports to the Ministry of Public Health through the Praboromarajchanok Institute.
A third route is missed for a different reason: a technical college here can award a degree. Udon Thani Vocational College, founded in 1938, is a member of the Institute of Vocational Education, Northeastern Region 1, and runs its own Bachelor of Technology admission route alongside the certificates and diplomas. That institute's head office is not in Udon Thani at all — it is at 306 Moo 5, Pho Chai Subdistrict, Mueang Nong Khai, an hour up the road. The awarding body sits in the next province from the colleges it confers for.
The provincial state vocational family — nine colleges
Member colleges of อาชีวศึกษาจังหวัดอุดรธานี publish the full family list in their own site footers. Four of the nine sit in Mueang Udon Thani; the rest are spread across the province. For a relocating reader this matters in two very practical ways: the Udon Thani Polytechnic College (a สารพัดช่าง college) exists to run short trade courses open to the general public, and the career colleges in Kumphawapi, Ban Phue and Nong Han are where the outer districts train their workforce.
The province's flagship technical college and, like UDVC, a member college of the Institute of Vocational Education, Northeastern Region 1.

Institutional facts here are taken from each institution's own published pages, read on 8 September 2026. Two pages we wanted did not render for us: every page on the Suan Sunandha Udon Thani centre's own site returned an empty response, so no programme list is published for it, and Udon Thani Technical College's general-information page also returned empty, so no degree claim is made for that college. Programmes, fees and intakes change every academic year — confirm directly with the institution.
