- No prison sentence in any country (except for negligence), not bankrupt, allowed to stay in Thailand.
- No more than one overstay in Thailand in the past 3 years; pass a four-agency background check before paying.
Requirements
- Membership fee for the chosen tier (VAT included).
- THB 50,000 application fee, credited to the membership fee.
- Passport with more than 1 year validity and 3 blank pages.
Step-by-step
- Choose a tier (family members need Platinum, Diamond or Reserve).
- Apply online or through an authorised agent and pay the THB 50,000 application fee.
- Pass the background check (Thailand Privilege aims to approve within 2 months).
- Pay the membership fee; membership is active within a week.
- Have the Privilege Entry visa affixed in person — at Suvarnabhumi, Phuket or Chiang Mai airport, Chaeng Wattana immigration, or a Thai embassy.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming it allows work — it does not; Thailand Privilege classes the PE visa as a long-term tourist visa that cannot carry a work permit.
- Assuming Gold covers your spouse — only Platinum, Diamond and Reserve take family members.
- Comparing sticker prices instead of cost per year per person — a longer tier can be cheaper per year.
- Forgetting 90-day reports and the in-person yearly extension still apply.
FAQ
Does the Elite visa let me work?
No. It is a long-stay privilege membership, not a work visa. Working needs a work permit.
Is there an age or income requirement?
No — that is the appeal. You qualify by paying the membership fee and passing a background check.
