Overview

Central Hatyai — branded CentralFestival Hatyai on-site — is Central Pattana's (CPN) flagship shopping centre in southern Thailand, built as a greenfield development on freehold land at 1518 Kanchanavanich Road and opened on 15 December 2013. The building's crystal-inspired, prism-like architectural design was a deliberate departure from a conventional box mall, intended to play with light and colour through the complex. By CPN's own account it is the largest shopping mall in southern Thailand, and it anchors the newer commercial district on the southern edge of central Hat Yai — a short drive from the older downtown core around the railway station, Lee Gardens Plaza and Diana Complex.
