American Prep International School (APIS) opened in Hat Yai in August 2015 as the city's only American-curriculum option, following California Department of Education standards with project-based learning, STEM activities and laptop/e-book integration from Grade 4. It runs Early Years (Pre-K–Kindergarten) through Grade 6 only — there is no secondary programme, so families need a follow-on plan (Bloomsbury, SIH, boarding elsewhere, or relocating) once a child reaches Grade 7. With roughly 80 students and class sizes around 10, tuition runs meaningfully below Bloomsbury and SIH at comparable grade levels.
