The campus

Address: Huai Yai, Bang Lamung, Chonburi

A 15,000 m² campus at Huai Yai, built in 2018 and set in green surroundings, with capacity for around 400 students. Facilities include science laboratories, an art room, sports fields, a swimming pool and a dojo — substantial provision for a school of its size.

Where this campus actually is

The campus is on Huai Yai Road in Bang Lamung, inland and south-east of the city, reached via Sukhumvit Road and Highway 36 — the school puts it at roughly a 15-minute drive from central Pattaya, which makes it materially closer than Rugby School Thailand, ISE or Garden International. It is still a drive rather than a walk, and there is no rail, but of the countryside-belt schools this is the least punishing commute. Huai Yai, East Pattaya, Na Jomtien and Bang Saray are the natural residential choices.

There is no urban rail anywhere on the Eastern Seaboard — no BTS, no MRT, no metro. The State Railway's eastern line calls at Pattaya but it is a sparse intercity service, not a school run, and the Bangkok–U-Tapao high-speed rail scheme is not in service. Baht buses cover the beach strip and do not usefully reach the inland campuses where most of these schools sit. Every school run here is a car, a school bus, a motorbike or a Grab — so the neighbourhood you choose and the bus route you qualify for matter more in Pattaya than in almost any Thai city. The curriculum pathway

How a child progresses through the school, stage by stage:

• Maternelle (petite, moyenne and grande section) from age 3.
• Élémentaire on the French national programme.
• Collège through to the brevet.
• Lycée to the French baccalauréat général. From 3e onwards the school enrols students in CNED courses — France's national distance-education body — to deliver and prepare for the brevet and baccalauréat. This is a normal and recognised model for smaller homologated schools abroad, but it is a genuine structural difference from a large lycée and worth understanding fully before you commit to the senior years.
• Languages are a stated priority rather than a bolt-on: the school reports that around a third of primary teaching time is delivered in English, with reinforced English at secondary level, and Thai, Spanish and Chinese open to all students.
• A vocational track from age 15 in commerce and customer-service careers — tourism, real estate, hospitality and sales — run in partnership with French groups. The school describes this as the only such provision in the French network in Asia. It is a genuinely unusual option for a family whose child is not aiming at a traditional academic baccalauréat.

Accreditation & memberships

Accreditation is the closest thing to an objective quality signal in international schooling — it means an outside body has inspected governance, teaching and safeguarding. • Homologated by the French Ministry of National Education, authorising delivery of the full French national curriculum from petite section to terminale.
• Partner school of the AEFE (Agence pour l'enseignement français à l'étranger), the French state agency for French education abroad.
• CNED partnership for the senior secondary years, preparing students for the brevet and the baccalauréat.
• Registered with Thailand's Ministry of Education.

Boarding and the size of the school

Boarding: A day school. EFIP does not offer boarding.

Scale: Students from more than 16 nationalities on a campus built for around 400 — a small school, and the only French-language option in the region, so it functions as a community hub for French-speaking families across the Eastern Seaboard as much as a school. Roll and nationality figures move every year and schools report them differently — treat these as indicative and ask the admissions office for current numbers.

Who this school tends to suit

French-speaking families, above all those who expect to return to France or the French system and need continuity of curriculum and language — for whom this is not the best option on the Eastern Seaboard but the only one. It also suits families who want their children genuinely multilingual, given French instruction plus English, Thai, Chinese and Spanish. It does not suit a family with no French: instruction is in French from the start.

Living near École Française Internationale de Pattaya (EFIP)

Huai Yai and the surrounding countryside are the natural residential belt for EFIP:

Confirm the bus catchment before you sign. Pattaya's international schools are strung along a 60-kilometre corridor across three districts and two provinces — Nongprue in the city, Pong and Khao Mai Kaew inland, Green Valley towards Sriracha, Bo Win beyond it and Ban Chang in Rayong. Choosing a home on the wrong side of that corridor turns a ten-minute run into a daily hour each way.

What to confirm directly with the school

BAANLYY deliberately does not publish per-school tuition figures: they change annually, schools publish their own current schedules, and a stale number is worse than none. Take this list to the admissions office:

• Exactly how the CNED-supported lycée years are taught and supervised on campus — how much is classroom teaching and how much is supported distance learning. This is the most important question a family with a teenager can ask EFIP.
• The current homologation status by level, since homologation is granted and renewed level by level rather than once for the whole school.
• The current fee schedule — tuition, application and registration fees, any refundable deposit or capital/development levy, uniforms, lunches, the bus and trips.
• Whether the year group you need has a place, or a waitlist, for your intended start date.
• The school bus route, catchment zone and pick-up time for the exact neighbourhood you are considering — then ask what time the bus actually arrives back. On the Eastern Seaboard this is the single most important question a family can ask. Campuses are spread across three districts and two provinces, and an hour each way is entirely possible if you choose the wrong side of the city.
• Whether the drive you were quoted was measured in rush hour. Sukhumvit Road through Pattaya and the Highway 7 / Highway 36 junctions bear little resemblance at 07:30 to what a mid-morning school tour suggests.
• Entry requirements: assessments, interviews, English-language support and the school reports or transcripts you must supply.
• How far the school takes your child, and on which exam pathway — the Eastern Seaboard mixes Cambridge IGCSE and A-level, IB Diploma, American high-school diploma and the French baccalauréat, and switching between them mid-secondary is disruptive and sometimes not possible at all.
• For boarding: the weekly and flexi options actually running this year, the age they start, and the exeat and weekend arrangements.
