Public university · founded 1987 · Pong, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi
Thammasat University, Pattaya Center is a satellite campus of one of Thailand's most prestigious public universities (main campuses in Bangkok and Rangsit), located in Pong Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District -- within Pattaya's own district and surrounded by four golf courses of the Siam Country Club group. The roughly 584-rai site was donated by Thong Thaworn Industry Co., Ltd. (via Dr. Thaworn Phornprapha) in 1987, and its foundation for training and seminar buildings was laid by then-Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, now King Rama X.
For much of its history the Pattaya Center functioned primarily as a training and seminar venue rather than a full degree campus. That changed in 2015, when Thammasat launched three undergraduate programs there: Automotive Engineering (English Program), Software Engineering, and Automotive Technology -- reflecting the campus's position within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) industrial development zone. It remains smaller and more specialised than Burapha University, Chonburi's flagship public university.
