Overview

Kamala is a calmer, family-oriented beach village tucked between busy Patong to the south and upscale Surin and Bang Tao to the north. Its long, gently curving bay, low-key village and the dramatic headland known as Millionaire's Mile — lined with luxury villas — give it a quieter, more residential character while keeping Patong's malls and nightlife only 10-15 minutes away.

For renters it strikes a middle ground: more relaxed and family-friendly than Patong, more affordable than Surin or Bang Tao, with a mix of beach-area condos, apartments and hillside sea-view homes. Cafe del Mar and a few beach clubs add some polish, while the village keeps everyday costs sensible.
