Overview

Surin is one of Phuket's most exclusive and stylish beaches, a compact bay of soft sand framed by the luxury-villa headland of Millionaire's Mile and set just south of Bang Tao in Cherng Talay. It trades nightlife and crowds for boutique polish — designer beach clubs, fine dining and discreet high-end residences — making it a favourite of affluent couples, professionals and longer-stay residents who want the northwest's amenities in a quieter, more private setting.

Rents and sale prices are among the island's highest, second only to parts of Bang Tao, and supply leans heavily toward luxury villas and premium condos. The pay-off is location: the airport is 25-30 minutes away, Bang Tao's Boat Avenue, Porto de Phuket, golf and international schools are minutes north, and Patong is a short coastal drive south.

Getting around

Connections

Phuket International Airport (HKT) (~25-30 min by road) · Bang Tao & Cherng Talay (~5-10 min north) · Kamala (~10 min south) · Grab / Bolt, taxis

Surin enjoys the northwest coast's easy airport access — about 25-30 minutes — with Bang Tao's Boat Avenue, Porto de Phuket, golf and international schools just minutes north and Kamala and Patong down the coast to the south. There is no rail on Phuket, so residents drive; the headland roads reward a car over a scooter.

FAQ

Surin — frequently asked questions

What makes Surin different from Bang Tao?

Surin is smaller, more boutique and exclusive — a chic beach of designer beach clubs and luxury villas — while Bang Tao is a larger, amenity-rich hub built around the Laguna resort. Surin residents are minutes from Bang Tao's shops, golf and schools but enjoy a quieter, more private setting.

How much is rent in Surin?

Surin is among Phuket's priciest areas. Indicative long-term rents run roughly THB 30,000-60,000 for a one-bedroom and THB 50,000-110,000 for a two-bedroom, with premium condos and pool villas well into six figures per month.

Is Surin good for families?

It can be — it's quiet and refined, with the northwest's top international schools (BISP, UWC) and Bang Tao's family amenities minutes away. Budget families, though, will find far better value at Rawai, Karon or Phuket Town.

How far is Surin from the airport?

About 25-30 minutes — one of the shorter transfers on Phuket, thanks to its northwest-coast location near Bang Tao and the airport.
