What Phuket does not have

Two absences matter if you are choosing where on the Andaman coast to live, and both are read off the institutions' own national registers rather than inferred from a search that turned up nothing.

• No Ramkhamhaeng University presence. RU is Thailand's open-admission university and the usual answer for a working adult who wants a Thai degree part-time. Its own central register lists 23 regional campuses and 41 domestic examination centres by province — Phuket is in neither list. In the south the register names Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phang Nga, Songkhla and Trang as campus provinces, so the nearest RU campus to Phuket is in Phang Nga, roughly an hour and a half north by road.
• No Buddhist-university teaching site. Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University's own register lists 28 regional Buddhist colleges and four academic service units nationally; none is in Phuket. The nearest MCU college is in Surat Thani, on the other side of the peninsula.
• No private university campus that we can evidence. Neither of the registers above covers private institutions, and we did not find a private university campus in Phuket in a source we would be willing to cite. Treat that as our gap rather than as a proven absence — if you are considering a specific private campus, ask it for its MHESI accreditation directly.
