Public · Specialised higher-education college · founded 1995 · Warin Chamrap, Ubon Ratchathani
Sirindhorn College of Public Health, Ubon Ratchathani is a specialised public higher-education college on a 160-rai site at km 11 of the Ubon-Det Udom road, in Mueang Si Khai subdistrict, Warin Chamrap -- the same subdistrict as the Ubon Ratchathani University main campus. Construction started in 1994 at a cost of 179 million baht and the college opened on 28 December 1995, taking its first 52 students the following year.
It teaches the Bachelor of Public Health in community public health and in dental public health, plus higher-vocational diplomas in pharmacy technique and emergency medical operations. As with the nursing college, the degree is conferred by the Praboromarajchanok Institute -- here by its Faculty of Public Health and Allied Health Sciences -- rather than by the college in its own name.
The college carries a royal name: HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn granted the Sirindhorn name to this family of colleges and permitted the use of her royal cypher as their emblem. Getting there without a car is realistic: the Ubon Ratchathani University songthaew route and the Ubon-Det Udom minibus both pass the site.
