Public university · founded 1915 · Mueang Ubon Ratchathani
Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University traces its history to 26 May 1915, when it was established as a basic teacher training school under Triam Udom Suksa School -- making it one of the oldest educational institutions in northeastern Thailand. It was converted into a dedicated Teacher Training School in 1947 and elevated to Ubon Teachers College in 1968, offering higher teaching-certificate and associate-degree qualifications.
The institution was upgraded to full Rajabhat University status on 15 June 2004 as part of Thailand's nationwide Rajabhat University system, and is considered one of the oldest Rajabhat universities in the country. The campus sits on Ratchathani Road in central Mueang Ubon Ratchathani district, and today offers a broad range of faculties beyond its founding teacher-education mission.
