Public · Regional campus of a national open university · Hat Yai district
Ramkhamhaeng University -- Thailand's open-admission state university -- teaches in Songkhla province through a regional campus (สาขาวิทยบริการเฉลิมพระเกียรติ) that is named for the province but sits in Hat Yai district, at Moo 6, Thung Khuan Chin Road, Tambon Khuan Lang. If you search for it as a Songkhla institution you will look in the wrong town; it is roughly on the Hat Yai side of the province, not down at Mueang Songkhla.
Teaching follows Ramkhamhaeng's national model: lectures are delivered from the Bangkok campus by satellite to the regional campuses, with summary sessions held locally at weekends. Both bachelor's and master's intakes run there, so the campus mainly serves people already living and working in Hat Yai who are studying alongside a job rather than school-leavers moving to a campus.
