Pattaya & the Eastern Seaboard · International school profile

Mooltripakdee International School (MIS).

British (EYFS/Montessori, National Curriculum) + Cambridge IGCSE, AS & A-Level · Nongprue, East Pattaya

Mooltripakdee International School (MIS) is a British-curriculum day school in Nongprue, east of central Pattaya, serving students from age 2 to 18. It is among the longer-established schools in the city — sources consistently report a founding in 1988, though we have not confirmed that date from the school's own publications and note it as reported rather than verified. Its Early Years programme blends the Early Years Foundation Stage with Montessori methods, Primary follows the English National Curriculum, and Secondary runs the Cambridge International curriculum through IGCSE, AS-Level and A-Level. In 2025 MIS entered a partnership with XCL Education, a Singapore-based group serving more than 20,000 students across Southeast Asia.

Campus

The campus

Address: 77 Moo 3, Chaiyaphon Withi 25, Nongprue, Bang Lamung, Chonburi 20150

A compact campus on Chaiyaphon Withi 25 in Nongprue, in the built-up eastern suburbs rather than the countryside. Smaller and more local in character than the big inland international schools.

The commute

Where this campus actually is

Nongprue, east of central Pattaya and close to the Sukhumvit corridor — one of the two genuinely central options along with Tara Pattana. Jomtien, Khao Talo, East Pattaya and central Pattaya are all realistic daily drives; Sriracha and Ban Chang are not, but then nobody moves to Sriracha for this school. No rail; car, motorbike or school bus.

There is no urban rail anywhere on the Eastern Seaboard — no BTS, no MRT, no metro. The State Railway's eastern line calls at Pattaya but it is a sparse intercity service, not a school run, and the Bangkok–U-Tapao high-speed rail scheme is not in service. Baht buses cover the beach strip and do not usefully reach the inland campuses where most of these schools sit. Every school run here is a car, a school bus, a motorbike or a Grab — so the neighbourhood you choose and the bus route you qualify for matter more in Pattaya than in almost any Thai city. Read the Pattaya getting-around guide and the Pattaya area guides before you sign a lease.

Academics

The curriculum pathway

How a child progresses through the school, stage by stage:

Standing

Accreditation & memberships

Accreditation is the closest thing to an objective quality signal in international schooling — it means an outside body has inspected governance, teaching and safeguarding. BAANLYY does not rank schools, so this is what Mooltripakdee International School (MIS) and its accrediting bodies publish, not our verdict:

Community

Boarding and the size of the school

Boarding: A day school. MIS does not offer boarding.

Scale: A smaller, more locally-rooted community than the big inland campuses, drawing largely from families living in Pattaya itself. We are not publishing a roll figure because we could not verify a current one. Roll and nationality figures move every year and schools report them differently — treat these as indicative and ask the admissions office for current numbers.

Fit

Who this school tends to suit

Long-stay families living in Pattaya who want a full British Cambridge pathway all the way to A-level without a daily inland commute, and who prefer a smaller school. The XCL partnership is worth understanding when you visit — group ownership usually brings investment and change, and it is fair to ask admissions what is actually changing and on what timetable.

This is our editorial read for relocation planning, not a ranking or a recommendation — and no school pays to appear on BAANLYY. Visit shortlisted campuses before you decide.

Where to live

Living near Mooltripakdee International School (MIS)

MIS is a Pattaya-side school, so the city's own residential areas work:

East PattayaNong PrueKhao TaloJomtien

Confirm the bus catchment before you sign. Pattaya's international schools are strung along a 60-kilometre corridor across three districts and two provinces — Nongprue in the city, Pong and Khao Mai Kaew inland, Green Valley towards Sriracha, Bo Win beyond it and Ban Chang in Rayong. Choosing a home on the wrong side of that corridor turns a ten-minute run into a daily hour each way.

Due diligence

What to confirm directly with the school

BAANLYY deliberately does not publish per-school tuition figures: they change annually, schools publish their own current schedules, and a stale number is worse than none. Take this list to the admissions office:
