A 29-rai campus on Chaiyaphon Withi 25 in Nongprue, in the built-up eastern suburbs rather than the countryside — larger than its compact reputation suggests, though still a fraction of Rugby's 80 acres. The school describes itself as minutes from the Pattaya motorway exit. Smaller and more local in character than the big inland international schools.

Where this campus actually is

Nongprue, east of central Pattaya and close to the Sukhumvit corridor — one of the two genuinely central options along with Tara Pattana. Jomtien, Khao Talo, East Pattaya and central Pattaya are all realistic daily drives; Sriracha and Ban Chang are not, but then nobody moves to Sriracha for this school. No rail; car, motorbike or school bus.

There is no urban rail anywhere on the Eastern Seaboard — no BTS, no MRT, no metro. The State Railway's eastern line calls at Pattaya but it is a sparse intercity service, not a school run, and the Bangkok–U-Tapao high-speed rail scheme is not in service. Baht buses cover the beach strip and do not usefully reach the inland campuses where most of these schools sit. Every school run here is a car, a school bus, a motorbike or a Grab — so the neighbourhood you choose and the bus route you qualify for matter more in Pattaya than in almost any Thai city. The curriculum pathway

How a child progresses through the school, stage by stage:

• Early Years from age 2, blending the English Early Years Foundation Stage with Montessori methodology.
• Primary on the English National Curriculum.
• Secondary on the Cambridge International curriculum to IGCSE.
• Sixth form: Cambridge AS-Level and A-Level.

How the last two years are actually taught

On the Eastern Seaboard this is the question that catches families out, so we state it separately for every school rather than leaving it inside a curriculum bullet. “A-levels to 18” can mean a teacher in a classroom on this campus, or it can mean a supervised room and a tutor on a screen somewhere else. Both are real models and both produce real qualifications — but they are different purchases, they cost different amounts, and directory listings routinely describe one while a school is running the other.

THE SCHOOL'S OWN SITE SAYS TWO DIFFERENT THINGS, AND THE DIFFERENCE IS FOUR SCHOOL YEARS. Its homepage text offers 'a high-quality British-based education from Early Years up to IGCSE / A-Level', its curriculum navigation lists a Secondary section covering ages 11–18, and its enquiry form accepts Year 12 and Year 13 applicants. But the same homepage's own meta description — the sentence Google shows searchers — reads 'Offering Early Years to IGCSE', stopping four years earlier, and the site carries no Sixth Form page at all, only Early Years, Primary and Secondary. Both readings are published by the school; we print both and pick neither. If A-levels are the reason you are considering MIS, treat the existence of a running sixth form as unconfirmed until admissions confirms in writing that a Year 12 cohort is enrolled and which subjects it is taking.

Accreditation & memberships

Accreditation is the closest thing to an objective quality signal in international schooling — it means an outside body has inspected governance, teaching and safeguarding. BAANLYY does not rank schools, so this is what Mooltripakdee International School (MIS) and its accrediting bodies publish, not our verdict:

• Cambridge International curriculum and examination pathway. How far that pathway runs is stated inconsistently by the school itself — see the sixth-form note below.
• Now part of XCL Education, not merely partnered with it. As at August 2026 the school's own homepage states that 'MIS has joined XCL Education', a Singapore-headquartered network the school describes as 21,000 students across 19 schools in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand. Its named Thai sister schools are XCL American School of Bangkok Sukhumvit and DPREP International School in Samut Prakan. (Updated August 2026: this page previously described a 2025 partnership. A partnership and a group membership are different things, and the difference shows up in fees, staffing and curriculum.)
• Registered with Thailand's Ministry of Education as an international school.
• No independent whole-school accreditation is named anywhere in the school's own text, and we do not claim one. The homepage does carry six accreditation-style badges, but they are untitled and carry no alt text, so they cannot be read — and per BAANLYY's standing rule we go to the accreditor's register rather than guess at a logo. Nothing we could reach names this school. That is a statement about published information, not about the school's quality.

Boarding and the size of the school

Boarding: A day school. MIS does not offer boarding.

Scale: A smaller, more locally-rooted community than the big inland campuses, drawing largely from families living in Pattaya itself. We are not publishing a roll figure because we could not verify a current one. Roll and nationality figures move every year and schools report them differently — treat these as indicative and ask the admissions office for current numbers.

Who this school tends to suit

Long-stay families living in Pattaya who want a full British Cambridge pathway all the way to A-level without a daily inland commute, and who prefer a smaller school. The XCL partnership is worth understanding when you visit — group ownership usually brings investment and change, and it is fair to ask admissions what is actually changing and on what timetable.

Living near Mooltripakdee International School (MIS)

MIS is a Pattaya-side school, so the city's own residential areas work:

Confirm the bus catchment before you sign. Pattaya's international schools are strung along a 60-kilometre corridor across three districts and two provinces — Nongprue in the city, Pong and Khao Mai Kaew inland, Green Valley towards Sriracha, Bo Win beyond it and Ban Chang in Rayong. Choosing a home on the wrong side of that corridor turns a ten-minute run into a daily hour each way.

What to confirm directly with the school

BAANLYY deliberately does not publish per-school tuition figures: they change annually, schools publish their own current schedules, and a stale number is worse than none. Take this list to the admissions office:

• Whether a sixth form is actually running, and to what qualification — the school's own homepage and its own meta description disagree about whether MIS stops at IGCSE or continues to A-level. Get it in writing.
• What joining XCL Education means in practice for fees, staffing, curriculum and school name over the next few years. Group ownership normally brings investment and change; it is entirely fair to ask what is changing and on what timetable.
• Which A-level subjects are running, if any — in a small sixth form, availability varies year to year.
• What the six unlabelled badges on the homepage represent, and which body awarded each. We could not read them and would rather ask than guess.
• The current fee schedule — tuition, application and registration fees, any refundable deposit or capital/development levy, uniforms, lunches, the bus and trips.
• Whether the year group you need has a place, or a waitlist, for your intended start date.
• The school bus route, catchment zone and pick-up time for the exact neighbourhood you are considering — then ask what time the bus actually arrives back. On the Eastern Seaboard this is the single most important question a family can ask. Campuses are spread across three districts and two provinces, and an hour each way is entirely possible if you choose the wrong side of the city.
• Whether the drive you were quoted was measured in rush hour. Sukhumvit Road through Pattaya and the Highway 7 / Highway 36 junctions bear little resemblance at 07:30 to what a mid-morning school tour suggests.
• Entry requirements: assessments, interviews, English-language support and the school reports or transcripts you must supply.
• How far the school takes your child, and on which exam pathway — the Eastern Seaboard mixes Cambridge IGCSE and A-level, IB Diploma, American high-school diploma and the French baccalauréat, and switching between them mid-secondary is disruptive and sometimes not possible at all.
• For boarding: the weekly and flexi options actually running this year, the age they start, and the exeat and weekend arrangements.
