Jomtien has a swimmable beach, a calmer residential feel and an enormous, well-priced condo market, while Central's nightlife and malls are a short songthaew ride away. Central suits those who want to be in the thick of it; Jomtien suits those who want the beach and a settled routine.

Indicatively, studios are about ฿7,000–13,000 a month, one-bedrooms ฿11,000–23,000 and two-bedrooms ฿20,000–42,000. Large modern complexes with pools and gyms sit at the upper end; older beachfront blocks are cheaper. It is among the best-value beach markets in Thailand.
