The campus, and how you actually get there

A 15-rai landscaped campus in a green valley, as the school describes it — a genuinely countryside setting for a school this close to town, with dedicated music and sports facilities.

Getting there: No rail on the island. The campus sits in the Kathu valley, off the main road and quieter than its neighbours — roughly 15 minutes to Phuket Town and 30–40 minutes to most of the west-coast beaches, with the Patong hill the usual variable. Check the school bus route for your beach before assuming the map distance.

Phuket has no rail network of any kind — no BTS, no MRT, no commuter line. The island's long-discussed light rail scheme is still in study and procurement, so every school run here is a car, a motorbike or the school bus. The curriculum pathway

How a child progresses through the school, stage by stage:

• Early Years — Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception (ages 2–5) on the EYFS framework
• Primary — Years 1–6
• Secondary — Years 7–11, leading to IGCSE examinations
• Sixth form — Years 12–13 at AS and A Level
• Thai, Chinese and Japanese taught as additional languages; EAL and learning-support provision alongside the mainstream programme

Accreditation & memberships

Accreditation is the closest thing to an objective quality signal in international schooling — it means an outside body has inspected governance, teaching and safeguarding. • Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC) — Initial Accreditation status, per the school's own accreditation page
• Authorised Pearson Edexcel centre for IGCSE and A Level
• Part of the Kajonkiet School Group, which runs several campuses across Phuket
• Note: some third-party school directories additionally describe KIS Phuket as an IB World School and a Cambridge International centre. The school's own accreditation page names WASC and Pearson Edexcel. We have not been able to reconcile the two, so we report both and recommend you ask the school directly rather than take either at face value.

Boarding and the size of the school

Boarding: Day school — no boarding.

Scale: A mid-sized co-educational day school for ages 2–18. The Kajonkiet group publishes current enrolment; we do not restate a roll figure that moves each year. Roll and nationality figures move every year and schools report them differently — treat these as indicative and ask the admissions office for the current numbers.

Who this school tends to suit

Families who want a full British pathway ending in A-levels rather than the IB, who value additional-language provision (Thai, Chinese, Japanese) as part of the timetable, and who want a quieter mid-island base within a short run of Phuket Town.

Check the school's bus catchment before you sign. Phuket is a big island served by one congested north–south spine and a handful of hill roads — a villa that looks close on a map can sit outside the route, and a home on the route can be further away and still be the easier morning.

What to confirm directly with the school

• Which accreditations and exam-board authorisations are current — the school's own accreditation page and third-party directories describe these differently, and this is worth getting in writing.
• Which A-level subjects are running in the sixth form for your child's intake year.
• How the international school relates to the wider Kajonkiet group's bilingual Thai campuses, which are a different programme.
• The current fee schedule — tuition, application and registration fees, any refundable deposit or capital/development levy, uniforms, lunches, the bus and trips.
• Whether the year group you need has a place, or a waitlist, for your intended start date.
• School bus routes, catchment zones and pick-up times for the specific beach or town you are considering — Phuket is a large island with a single congested north–south spine, and a home twenty minutes further out on the route can be the easier morning.
• Entry requirements: assessments, interviews, English-language support and the school reports or transcripts you must supply.
• How far the school takes your child — several Phuket schools stop before IGCSE or before sixth form, which means planning a second move.
