Surat Thani universities & colleges, and who actually awards the degree.
Six higher-education sites in mainland Surat Thani city — from Suratthani Rajabhat University's Khun Thale campus and PSU's Khao Tha Phet campus to a Buddhist college in the middle of town and a technical college quietly teaching four bachelor's degrees. Two of them award nothing in their own name: the qualification comes from a parent institute you cannot see from the sign on the gate, which is set out for each entry below. (Koh Samui, also part of Surat Thani province, has its own separate Koh Samui universities guide.)

In Thailand, the name on the gate is often not the body that awards the degree
This directory used to carry three entries and describe itself as covering every institution in mainland Surat Thani. It did not. Three sites inside Mueang district were missing, two of them a short walk from the city centre, and one of those teaches four bachelor's degrees. The reason they were easy to miss is structural rather than careless: a Thai vocational college can teach a degree that a separate Institute of Vocational Education confers; a nursing college's degrees now come from the Praboromarajchanok Institute, made a higher-education institution in its own right by an Act gazetted on 5 April 2019; a Buddhist college's degrees come from a national sangha university. None of that is visible from the institution's name.
So each entry below states, in plain words, what that site actually confers and which body confers it. Where a site awards nothing above a higher diploma, it says so rather than being quietly left out.

Degree-level study happens on these 5 sites
Bachelor's level or above can be read here. The awarding body is named on each page.
This is Mueang district only. Surat Thani province runs vocational colleges in several other districts — Chaiya, Wiang Sa, Kanchanadit and Koh Samui among them — and this directory does not profile them. Koh Samui has its own separate guide.
Programme lists go stale. The bachelor's programmes attributed here to the Institute of Vocational Education: Southern Region 1 are those on the institute's own published list. Intakes open and close. Confirm with the college before you sign a lease around one.
