A university regional campus, a community college, an agricultural college and three public vocational colleges — 6 physically distinct institutions spread across Thai Mueang, Mueang Phang Nga, Thap Put, Takua Thung, Takua Pa.
Where a bachelor's degree is actually available
Six institutions does not mean six routes to a degree. Sorting them by what is awarded for study carried out on the site itself is the single most useful thing this page can do for a family choosing where in Phang Nga to live.
The one that surprises people: Phang Nga Technical College is not certificate-only. It is a constituent college of the Institute of Vocational Education: Southern Region 2, headquartered in Thalang, Phuket, and the institute is the body that confers degrees. Two Bachelor of Technology (ทล.บ.) continuing programmes — Production Technology and Electric Vehicle Technology — are taught on the college's campus in Phang Nga town. Nothing in the college's name says so, which is exactly why guides to the province routinely miss it.
What this page does not claim
- No stand-alone university is headquartered in Phang Nga. Ramkhamhaeng's Thai Mueang site is a regional campus of a Bangkok university, not a university of its own. Prince of Songkla, the Rajabhat network and Mahidol have no campus here.
- Takua Pa Industrial and Community Education College's founding year is not stated, because BAANLYY could not establish it from the college's own material. An estimate would be worse than a blank.
- Whether Phang Nga College of Agriculture and Technology sits under a degree-conferring vocational institute is recorded as unresolved rather than answered. Its own published programme information covers ปวช. and ปวส.; we do not extend that to a degree claim in either direction.
- Two figures were removed from this page's own earlier text, not corrected from someone else's: an unsourced 50-rai site area for the Ramkhamhaeng campus, and a “Tha Yang Subdistrict” address for Phang Nga Technical College. There is no Tha Yang subdistrict in Mueang Phang Nga; the college's own address gives Thai Chang.
