Schools & education in Prachinburi.

The province's only international school, at 222 Moo 16, Mueang Kao sub-district, Kabin Buri — placed for the industrial-estate families rather than the provincial capital. KRIS runs a UK-based curriculum built around the Early Years Foundation Stage and a Reggio-influenced approach, with a trilingual English / Thai / Chinese language programme, and states an intention to extend upward to age 18 in future. Last year this page flagged that the school's own website gives two different top ages — the chairman's welcome says it enrols children aged 2 to 4, the site-wide footer says 2 to 10 — and told you to ask admissions. We have now gone further, because the fee page settles which figure to plan around: KRIS publishes tuition for exactly three class levels, Pre-Early Years, Early Years 1 and Early Years 2, at THB 105,000, 114,000 and 115,500 a year, plus a THB 3,000 application fee, a THB 50,000 non-refundable registration fee, a THB 30,000 refundable place deposit and termly resource and meal charges. No primary year group carries a published fee. Treat KRIS as an early-years school today, and get any primary place confirmed in writing before you sign a lease around it.

Prachinburi is not a university-less province. KMUTNB — the public technology university founded in 1959 as a Thai-German technical school — dates its move into the province to 1995, but the campus works office's own history is more staged than that: teaching started in academic year 1997 in borrowed rooms at Prachinburi Polytechnic College, moved onto the campus's own site in 1998, and Engineering and Applied Science taught here from 2000. The Faculty of Industrial Technology and Management was established by royal decree on 6 August 1996. The works office states it looks after 1,233 rai plus a further 575 rai of newer land and 12 km of perimeter fence, on the road running north toward Khao Yai. An earlier version of this page said the campus houses two faculties; there are three based here today — Industrial Technology and Management, Agro-Industry (first intake 2003) and the newer Business Administration and Service Industry, which runs tourism-and-hotel and industrial-business degrees and its own teaching hotel, Villa Vichalai. In October 2025 the campus also launched German-model 'school-factory' associate-degree tracks aimed at students leaving school after M.3, with tuition posted at THB 14,500.

The institution this page previously missed, and the most distinctive place to study in the province. At 225 Moo 11, Mai Khet, Mueang Prachinburi, it is a degree college of the Praboromarajchanok Institute's Faculty of Public Health and Allied Health Sciences, and a direct outgrowth of Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital's herbal-medicine work. Its own history records the province building the college in 2004 on 15 rai 3 ngan 12 wa of state land and handing it to the hospital to run; Burapha University came in as academic partner in 2005, teaching years one and two in Chonburi while years three and four ran here; the education role passed to the Praboromarajchanok Institute in 2009; and the college was confirmed as an institute college in its own right on 12 July 2013. The awarding arrangement has changed again, which is the part worth knowing: from the 2023 intake the college runs its own Bachelor of Applied Thai Traditional Medicine, taught in Prachinburi for all four years, alongside the older Burapha-badged programme. It also runs a public applied Thai traditional medicine clinic and a herbal pharmacy.

Ramkhamhaeng, Thailand's open-admission university, runs one of its regional Withayaborikan Chaloem Phrakiat campuses in Prachinburi, in Mai Khet sub-district of Mueang district — the same sub-district as the traditional-medicine college, a few minutes out from the provincial capital. It offers Thai-medium degree study to working adults who cannot relocate to Bangkok, and it is the practical route to a first degree for many people already employed in the province: useful to know if a Thai partner or an adult household member wants to study locally.

A genuine strength in an industrial province, and worth stating more precisely than the word 'vocational' usually allows. Both colleges belong to the Institute of Vocational Education, Central Region 3, created by ministerial regulation on 13 June 2012 and grouping ten colleges across Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao and Samut Prakan; its headquarters sits outside the province, in the academic services building at Nakhon Nayok Technical College. Under that institute both Prachinburi colleges award bachelor's degrees, not only certificates. Prachinburi Technical College, at 908 Prachin Anusorn Road in Na Mueang, lists seven bachelor of technology fields — mechatronics and robotics, electrical technology, automotive technology, office management, digital business technology, hotel, and accounting — and Burapaprachin Technical College in Kabin Buri lists digital business technology. For a household whose reason to be here is the 304 and Rojana estates, that means a local path from certificate to degree without moving.

Thai-medium government schools cover the capital and every district town — Kabinburi School is among the larger secondary schools in the eastern half of the province. The clearest named bilingual option is Marie Vithaya Kabin Buri, the Catholic school at 580-1 Moo 17 on the Chachoengsao–Nakhon Ratchasima road in Mueang Kao, founded in 1960 and run under the Chachoengsao diocese: it teaches kindergarten through M.6 and has run a Mini English Programme from K2 to M.3, whose first cohort graduated in 2012. Note where that programme stops — M.3, the end of lower secondary — which is the same wall the international question runs into. Other anuban and local English programmes exist; ask each school in writing how many hours a week are actually taught in English, because the label covers a very wide range in practice.

A full international secondary track — IB, British IGCSE / A-level or American through Grade 12 — does not exist in Prachinburi today, and neither does an international primary track with a published fee. The furthest an English-medium route currently runs in this province is the Marie Vithaya Mini English Programme to M.3. Families who need more either commute their children toward Bangkok, about two hours west, or base themselves on the Eastern Seaboard (Chonburi / Pattaya), where the choice is deep. BAANLYY says this plainly rather than padding the page: for a family with a child over about six, this is the single fact most likely to decide whether Prachinburi works.
