Overview

J-Park Sriracha Nihon Mura opened in 2014 in Surasak Subdistrict, south of Sriracha town, built by Sahapat Group specifically to serve the district's large Japanese community — engineers, managers and their families relocated for the automotive and electronics plants around Sriracha, Laem Chabang and Amata Nakorn.

The 20,000 sqm complex of roughly 55 shops is designed to evoke a traditional Japanese town: large red lanterns at the entrance recall Tokyo's Senso-ji Temple, a replica of Kyoto's Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) stands at the centre surrounded by koi ponds, and the site includes the Okuni Shrine — Thailand's third Japanese Shinto shrine and the second in Chonburi province.

Beyond the resident Japanese community, J-Park has become a popular weekend day-trip destination for Thai and foreign visitors from Sriracha, Pattaya and across the Eastern Seaboard who come for the Japanese-garden atmosphere, the shrine and the mix of Japanese retail (Don Don Donki, Daiso, Tsuruha Drug) and dining.
