Royal Thai Police — Immigration Bureau, Surat Thani Immigration Office, Koh Phangan sub-office
Koh Phangan's own immigration point opened on the grounds of the Koh Phangan Police Station on Chaloklum Road in Thong Sala on 20 May 2021, giving islanders a local option for the most common immigration errands without a ferry trip to Koh Samui. It is a sub-office of the Surat Thani Immigration Office, which itself has a larger branch on Koh Samui in Maenam.
The Thong Sala point primarily handles 90-day address reporting and TM30 notification of residence for Koh Phangan addresses. Its capacity for more involved matters -- annual extensions of stay, certificates of residence and re-entry permits -- has expanded gradually since 2021 but still trails the full-service Koh Samui Immigration Office in Maenam, which remains the main office for the Surat Thani Gulf-island group of Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. Confirm locally which services the Thong Sala point can currently process before planning around it.
